THE PROPHETIC IMPLICATION OF THE RECENT EVENTS INVOLVING THE TSUNAMIS

The recent earthquake in Asia that produced the huge Tsunamis (pronounced soo-nam-ee –) was called by one Fox News Commentator, "A disaster of Biblical proportions." The commentator may have unwillingly been speaking prophetically, when one considers how this event can be viewed in light of certain prophetic scriptures.
What caused this disaster?Many scientists believe that the continents of the earth were once connected, but during a cataclysmic event they became divided. This fact is evident when a person takes a world map and cuts out the continents. The continents can be placed together into one main landmass, similar to a jigsaw puzzle. We argue that before the flood of Noah the earth was one main land mass. However, the flood of Noah caused the "fountains of the deep to open," possibly shifting the platelets of the continents (Genesis 7:11).
The Bible gives us the name of a man, Peleg, and tells us that in his day "was the earth divided" (Genesis 10:25). In Hebrew, the name Peleg means "earthquake." The name could allude to a major shaking of the earth, which occurred sometime after the flood. We know the tower of Babel was destroyed and the universal language of mankind was divided, thus forming the languages of the world (Genesis 11).
Today, surrounding all of the nations of the world are huge bodies of water. These include the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean and others. The coastal areas surrounding these major oceans are from a series of platelets deep in the waters.
The recent disaster was caused by the shifting of two of the platelets, one that shifted above the other. This forced a huge amount of water to be pushed toward the coastal areas of nine nations, which are in the Pacific Rim.
When this shifting occurred, it created a 9.0 magnitude earthquake that was felt all the way into the Persian Gulf, where boats were tossed by the waves of water. It also created up to 30 feet high waves, which eventually made their way at 500 miles per hour onto the beach and coastal areas of these nine nations.
These two events happened at once – the largest earthquake on record in 40 years and the world’s largest disaster caused by the sea and the waves.
The Whole Earth ShookWithin hours of this disaster, one of the leading geologists from the United Nations stated that the entire earth shifted as a result of the earthquake and the Tsunami. This was a shocking statement, considering a prophecy Isaiah made concerning the coming Day of the Lord; the day God judges the earth during the time of tribulation:
"...For the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake." The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
"The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage." - Isaiah 24:18-20
While this event will occur during the future great tribulation, we have experienced a small preview of how this strange scripture could be fulfilled.
Every Island Moved They also indicated that during the tribulation a great earthquake, such was not in the history of the world will occur. This will cause "Every Island to be moved out of its place."
"There was a great earthquake...and the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places." - Revelation 6:12 and 6:14
The news commentators have already said that one was moved 100 feet during this terrible disaster. This was not the first time this has occurred, but again, it is a preview of the events, which will follow in the near future!
Sea and Waves Roaring During our recent Main Event Conference in Dalton, Georgia, I shared with the audience how the four major hurricanes in Florida were a sign of the "Sea and the waves roaring." This unusual prophecy is located in Luke’s Gospel, in Luke
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." - Luke 21:25-26
Thousands are now dead as a result of huge waves striking the coastlines of nine nations! I believe this is a major sign of the time of the end, prior to the return of Christ!
What is Going On?Perhaps we can sum this brief Internet update up with the words of Paul,
"For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now." - Romans 8:22
This is NOT the beginning of the tribulation. This is only the increase in the intensity of the birth pains (Matthew 24:8).
