There are several ideas about when the rapture will occur, the link above is a short "to the point" explanation of why I believe in the pre trib rapture. On a side note, I once asked Zola Levitt if he had to give only one reason why he believed in pre-trib what would it be. He said the one reason was that it had to be a "surprise". If it happened mid or post trib you could figure out to the day when it would occur based on prophecy. Also Hal Lindsey made the point that people would be oblivious that anything was occurring just as they were before the flood came. Business as usual. Well during the tribulation 1/4 of the worlds population will die, then after that 1/3 of what's left will die. Most of the worlds water will be un drinkable. Business as usual wont be going on. No one will be oblivious. If the rapture happened before the tribulation the description "business as usual" will be correct.
